Use rainy days for culture: The award-winning European Hansemuseum in Lübeck (60 min.) is an experience in itself. Closer by are the A. Paul Weber Museum and the District Museum in Ratzeburg (15 min.) or the Eulenspiegel Museum in Mölln (10 min.). The Museum of Nature and Environment in Lübeck is also worth a visit. The Old Town of Lübeck (UNESCO World Heritage Site) beckons with the Holstentor, St. Mary's Church, and the Buddenbrook House.

A tip: The rough Baltic Sea has its very own charm for a beach walk in a raincoat even when the sky is overcast.

Bargain hunters will find what they are looking for in the Outlet City Neumünster (60 min.). Those who prefer to shop regionally visit the farm shops around Mölln. Numerous restaurants and cafés then invite you to cozy hours with coffee and cake.
